On Friday, 7th of September 2018, City Hall had a reception for businessmen from the Free State of Saxony from Germany. Guest of honor was dr. Peter Neumann, honorary consul of Republic of Croatia in the Free State of Saxony. They were admitted by Deputy Mayor Zlatan Avar and President of City Council Damir Habijan. There were also representatives from an economic and cultural life of Varaždin. Deputy Mayor Avar was in Dresden a few weeks ago where he met with Dr. Neumann. Consul gave two lithographs by Marc Chagall because he loves Varaždin very much. The main goal is to deepen and intensify relationship between the eastern part of Germany and the City of Varaždin. One of the guests was Siniša Vugrek which will definitely contribute to better relations between Germany and Varaždin with his Bicycle show and unique metal sculptures.
